"These guys know what they're doing. Our old driveway was heaved and cracked from frost. They tore it out, fixed the base, and poured a new one. Two winters later — not a crack."

Your Questions.

Most residential concrete driveways in the Twin Cities metro run between $9–$14 per square foot, depending on size, thickness, base conditions, and finish. Stamped or decorative work will run higher. We provide free on-site estimates so you get an accurate number specific to your property — no guessing.

Most residential projects take 1–3 days from pour to finish, depending on size and complexity. Prep work (demo, grading, forms) typically happens the day before or the morning of the pour. We'll give you a clear timeline before we start so you know exactly what to expect.

We recommend staying off new concrete for 24–48 hours for foot traffic, and at least 7 days before driving on it. Full cure takes 28 days, but it's plenty usable well before that. We'll walk you through care instructions before we leave the job site.

Never. Our own crew handles every job from start to finish. When you hire A&J, the same people who quoted your job are the ones doing the work. No handoffs, no surprises, no strangers showing up at your property.

Yes. A&J Custom Concrete is fully licensed and insured to operate in Minnesota. We carry general liability insurance and workers' compensation, and we're happy to provide documentation on request before any work begins.

Spring through fall is ideal — concrete shouldn't be poured when temperatures drop below 40°F. That said, we can work in cooler temps with the right precautions and cold-weather mix designs. If you're planning a project, reach out early — our schedule fills up fast in the spring.

We use the right mix design, proper base prep, control joints, and finishing techniques specifically for Minnesota's climate. The base is the most critical factor — we never skip or cut corners on it. That's why our work holds up winter after winter when other contractors' work cracks and heaves.

Yes — always. We come out to your property, look at the site, and give you a real number. No low-ball quotes that balloon at invoice. What we quote is what you pay. No pressure, no obligation.

We're based in Andover and serve the greater Twin Cities area — including all of Anoka County, Wright County, Hennepin County, and Sherburne County. If you're within an hour of Andover, we can almost certainly help. Check our service areas page for the full list of cities.

Regular concrete is finished smooth or with a broom texture. Stamped concrete uses patterned molds pressed into the surface before it cures to create the look of stone, slate, brick, or wood — along with color to match. It costs more than standard concrete but far less than the real materials it replicates, and it's just as durable when installed correctly.
